FALL YA Scavenger Hunt Begins!

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Huntpage to find out all about the hunt. There are eight contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the GOLD TEAM–but there is also a red team, an orange team, a blue team, a green team, a teal team, a purple team, and a pink team for a chance to win a whole different set of books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

SCAVENGER HUNT POST
Today, I am hosting Abigail Johnson on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!
Abigail Johnson was born in Pennsylvania. When she was twelve, her family traded in snowstorms for year-round summers and moved to Arizona. Abigail chronicled the entire cross-country road trip in a purple spiral-bound notebook that she still has, and has been writing ever since. She became a tetraplegic after breaking her neck in a car accident when she was seventeen, but hasn’t let that stop her from bodysurfing in Mexico, writing and directing a high-school production of Cinderella, and becoming a published author.

Find out more information by checking out the author website or find more about the author’s book here!

EXCLUSIVE CONTENT

Don’t miss the second gripping and heartfelt story from the author of If I Fix You! A girl’s plan to find her father’s birth family turns potentially devastating when the secret DNA test she has done reveals that she has a half brother her age she never knew about.

Dana Fields’s father never knew his parents. When Dana secretly does a DNA test for her dad, hoping to find him some distant relatives for his birthday, her entire world implodes. Instead of a few third cousins, Dana discovers a half brother her age whose very existence means her parents’ happy marriage is a lie.

Dana’s desire to know her half brother, Brandon, and the extent of her dad’s deception, clashes with her wish not to destroy her family. When she sees the opportunity to get to know Brandon through his cousin, the intense yet kind Chase, she takes it. But the more she finds out about Brandon, her father’s past and the irresistible guy who’ll never forgive her if he discovers the truth, the more she sees the inevitable fallout from her own lies. With her family crumbling around her, Dana must own up to her actions and find a way to heal the breach—for everyone—before they’re torn apart for good.

MESSAGE FROM ABIGAIL JOHNSON:

Hi everyone! I’ve got an inspiration board/dream cast for my upcoming book, The First To Know. It’s always so fun thinking of actors who might play my characters. A few people I knew right off (Salma Hayek–aka the most beautiful woman ever–as Dana’s Mom) and the one, the only Jason Momoa as the boy Dana tries not to fall for (FYI, I’m talking about a teenage Jason Momoa, which is why I chose a photo of him from his early days on Baywatch). For the others, it took a little while to find actors who looked similar to the characters in my head, but I’m really happy with this dream cast and I hope you are too 🙂

Aimee Carrero as Dana
*Teenage* Jason Momoa as Chase
Daniel Sharman as Brandon
Odette Annable as Selena
Yara Shahidi as Jessalyn
Beulah Koale as Nick
Paul Bettany as Dad
Salma Hayek as Mom

And don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of books by me, Abigail Johnson, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 5. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the GOLD team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

August Newsletter

Hello awesome readers!

As we all know, it’s August. In two short weeks, I will be returning to work as a high school science teacher. This summer has been a great one for writing and promoting my latest series, the Immortal Chronicles. I look forward to going back to work but will definitely miss all the time I could dedicate to writing.

Any who… to celebrate the end of summer, I found some AWESOME giveaways and Freebies that I wanted to share with you all!

First up:

This scavenger hunt hosts a rafflecopter giveaway of free ebooks, signed copies, swag bags, etc.

Check it out here: http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/e8df5c982…

Second:

38 Authors have come together to create a promo using book funnel. Visit the link below to get access to 38 FREE ebooks from some amazing authors! They are all YA, but the genres are different and there is definitely something for everyone. Go check it out!

Third:

One of my FAVORITE series is having the first book FREE this weekend from August 4th – 8th. Click the Amazon Link to download your copy this weekend!

https://www.amazon.com/Shadowed-Strength-Book-One-…

P.S. For those of you who read Enlightened, Darcie picks up this book at the Brunswick Public Library!

Finally, I’ve been doing a good amount of reading in July. Here are some of the books that REALLY drew me in that I think some of you might enjoy.

*Click on the images to visit the series pages on Amazon.*

1. The Marked Series by T.L. McDonald

2. Curse of the Gods Series by Jane Washington & Jaymin Eve (2 of 5 books complete)

3. The Marked by Bianca Scardoni (3 of 4 books complete)

NOTE: All of these books are available through a program on Amazon called Kindle Unlimited. Basically, its paying 10 bucks a month for unlimited access to hundreds of thousands of amazing books. For me, it is where I found most of my summer reads. In July alone, I read 10 books. Which, if you do the math, means I spent $1 per book. You can’t beat that!

I hope you were able to find something fun to read in this Newsletter. I will send out another one in September!

Until next time, happy reading!

Samantha

Not only is it release day for Ensnared, Immortal Chronicles Book II, but it is also the SECOND ANNIVERSARY of the day I released my first novel, Will of Fate of the Dual Court Series!

To celebrate the two years since I entered the amazing world of publishing, I decided to commission new covers to commemorate the series!

So, without further ado, here are the new covers for Will of Fate & Work of Fate of the Dual Court Series:

My Favorite YA Paranormal/Fantasy Books for May!

If I’m being honest, May has been a crazy month for me. With work, sending out beta copies of Enlightened, and my day to day tasks, I haven’t been able to read as much as I would like. Needless to say, a book REALLY had to steal my attention for me to volunteer valuable time to read it.

So, without further ado, here are my TOP TWO reads of May and their Blurbs from Amazon. I highly recommend each of them for fans of YA paranormal/fantasy romance! I did not regret a minute spent reading these novels.

1. Suppressed by Wendi L. Wilson

There are strange things out there. Things I thought only existed in fairy tales.

My name is Kailani Ericson and my life pretty much sucks. My mother is an indentured servant in this lonely house, serving a hateful old woman who gets her kicks by terrorizing me. One of my few comforts is the sea in my backyard. Diving into its frigid depths is the one thing that makes me truly happy.

Then he shows up, and my entire world shifts.

Bryce Howell is gorgeous, every girl’s fantasy. He’s also arrogant, insolent, and strictly forbidden. But he’s not normal. He’s something different. Something magical. Our attraction to each other just may be my downfall.

As it turns out, I’m not normal either. I am the stuff of myths and legends. Suddenly, my love of the sea and its pull on me make a lot more sense.

They say legends never die, and I hope that’s true. There are those who want me dead, and if I can’t put a halt to my seemingly inevitable transformation, there will be nothing I can do to stop them.

I love the sea, but ultimately, it might just be what kills me.

2. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin–one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin–and his world–forever.
